Rajshri launches Marathi digital food channel Ruchkar Mejwani

Entertainment Studio Rajshri Entertainment has launched a Marathi food channel called Ruchkar Mejwani across multiple digital platforms including YouTube, Digivive, DailyMotion and VuClip among others.

The channel’s first show is hosted by chef Archana Arte and will feature various recipes like gulpolis, cupcakes, Kolhapuri tambada rassa and pizza among others. As of now, the channel has nine videos online by Arte, including recipes for pomfret pickle, zunka, misal pav, chicken curry and masale bhaat among others. Rajshri claims that the channel will be updated every week with new recipes and will feature new shows hosted by new chefs in the near future.

Ruchkar Mejwani is Rajshri’s fifth food channel after Rajshri Food, Get Curried, Swaad Anusaar and Indono Daidokoro. The network also runs another Marathi channel Rajshri Marathi, which features upcoming movies, music launches and interviews among others.

Earlier this month, Rajshri told Medianama that it had begun experimenting with dubbing their food content in international languages beginning with Indono Daidokoro which is its Japanese language channel for Indian food. The company also mentioned that it’s now getting audiences for Bollywood content from close to 200 countries, with many of these countries not having theatrical releases. The company now plans to release subtitled Bollywood films in multiple international languages.

Other developments

– Rajshri Entertainment had previously launched an animated nursery rhymes video channel called Peekaboo on YouTube in November last year. The videos feature The Dubby Dubs, a set of animated characters that help interpret traditional nursery rhymes in new way.

– The month before, the company inked a deal with Microsoft to feature its video content on the recently revamped MSN India. It had said then that video content from its YouTube channels like Rajshri Food, Bollywood Now, Hollywood Now, and Rajshri Soul among others would be made available on MSN India.

– In May, Rajshri signed up with Believe Digital for distributing and marketing its music catalogue across various International digital platforms like iTunes, Spotify, Pandora, eMusic and others.
