Amazon.in launches three new stores
Amazon India has launched its Kannada books, movies and music store on its marketplace. The company claims that this store will offer over 7,300 books, 4700 movies and 2500 music albums.
On offer are books from authors like S L Bhyrappa, Ravi Belagere, Kuvempu and UR Ananthamurthy along with Kannada translation of English bestsellers, movies across various genres like action, adventure, romance and drama from directors like Jogaraj Bhatt, Puttana Kanagal and Dinesh Babu among others and albums by Hamsalekha, Harikrishna and Ilayaaraja along with artists from various other genres.
Amazon has also launched a Gourmet & Specialty food store and a Kids Party Supplies store. The Gourmet and Specialty food will include assorted gourmet treats, confectioneries, condiments, seasonings and baking supplies from over 155 Indian and international brands, of which the company claims 30 are exclusive deals.
The Kids Party Supplies store on the hand claims to offer over 1800 party supplies including merchandise like snow sprays, balloons, noisemakers, and gift masks among others based on popular characters like Mickey, Ben10, Chota Bheem and others.
Jabong partners European denim brand G-Star RAW
Online fashion store Jabong.com has entered into an exclusive partnership with European denim brand G-Star RAW, to debut its products in the Indian market. The products will include various jeans styles for men and women along with t shirts, jackets, fitted shirts, etc.
As of now, Jabong lists about 120 different products from G-Star, including 29 denims, 67 polos and tees, 30 casual shirts, 9 winter wear among others. According to the company the collection includes Japanese selvedge denims, pune denims, sophisticated wash denims etc. and will cater to Gen-Y shoppers.
Flipkart & Myntra partners e-commerce consultancy firm Ace Turtle
Flipkart and Myntra have signed on the Bangalore based e-commerce consultancy firm Ace Turtle, to bring various global fashion brands to their platform, reports the Economic Times. As a part of the deal, Ace Turtle will sign on global labels to sell on Flipkart and Myntra, as well as manage the standalone Indian websites of the brands it brings on board.
As of now Myntra and Ace Turtle have reportedly already signed up some global brands, although both declined to name them. Ace Turtle currently manages the online store for kids apparel seller Kapkids, and is rolling out four e-stores for certain Indian and foreign brands in the coming three months.
Flipkart launches app for Android Wear
Flipkart has also launched an app for Android Wear, that enables users to view their Flipkart wishlists and push notifications from Flipkart.The company however mentioned that push notifications will work only if users specifically enables them.
Other features include the ability to access order tracking related information, price drop notifications, personalized offer notifications and product suggestions.
BigBasket.com opens warehouse in Hyderabad
Online grocery retailer BigBasket.com has opened a new central warehouse in Hyderabad, to enable the company to offer same day deliveries in Hyderabad and Secunderabad, reports the Times of India.
According to the company, it currently gets over 5,000 orders everyday in Hyderabad, where it has over 70,000 customers, with an order growth rate of 30% per month. It currently lists over 10,000 products including vegetables, groceries, fresh fruits, meats, home and kitchen products among others and runs its own logistics. The company currently plans to expand its operations to Chennai, Delhi and Pune in the near future.
VoxPop Clothing partners Mumbai City Football Club
Blume Ventures-backed VoxPop Clothing which sells limited edition T-shirts related to superhero characters, has partnered with one of Indian Super League’s teams Mumbai City Football Club, to launch an exclusive range of t-shirts for their fans.
This is VoxPop’s first time licensing tie-up with a sports brand. As part of the tie-up, the site will offer limited edition collection of 10 t-shirts inspired by Mumbai City Football Club. The tees will be available in different colors and round & polo neck styles starting Rs 699.
