Flipkart appoints two new members to its leadership team
E-commerce marketplace Flipkart has announced the appointment of two new members in leadership positions including Rishi Vasudev as its new Vice President- Fashion (retail) and Parameswaran Balakrishnan as its Vice President- HR for supply chain.
In his new role, Vasudev will be responsible for spearheading P&L for all fashion categories on Flipkart. He currently has over 15 years of experience in the fashion and retail industry, with his last position being the CEO of Calvin Klein India. Prior to CK, he has also worked at companies like Louis Philippe and Arvind Brands, where he led the makeover from brands like Gant, Arrow and Izod.
Balakrishnan, who joins as the VP- HR for supply chain, will be responsible for business partnering, talent acquisition and function L&D for Flipkart’s supply chain. He has previously worked in organizations like Toyota and Tata Motors and has experience in various functional domains like human resources, employee relations and manufacturing. In his previous role, he headed employee relations and CSR of Tata Motors, and overall has over 20 years of experience in the field.
Magnasoft appoints Shyam Ramamurthy as its CTO
Bangalore based SaaS products and technology solutions provider Magnasoft has named Shyam Ramamurthy as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO), reports Techcircle. Ramamurthy has been with the company as an advisory board member, and in his new position, will be responsible for technology and products development.
Ramamurthy currently has over 25 years of experience in building technology products, and was the senior director of advertising platforms at Yahoo, before Magnasoft. He has also worked at companies like Cygent Inc., Quark, Oracle Corporation, Motorola EMB and Infosys technologies. Established in 2000, Magnasoft offers an integrated Internet of Things product called NorthStar, that tracks and monitors children and school buses during commute.
Let’sVenture founder Manish Singhal quits the company
Manish Singhal, cofounder of Bangalore-based angel deal making platform Let’sVenture, which is backed by Accel Partners, has quit the company citing personal reasons, reports Economic Times.
According to Sharad Sharma, an advisor at Let’sVenture, Shanti Mohan and Singhal had different styles and personalities and hence part ways to avoid conflict. Mohan, Singhal and Sanjay Jha had founded the company nearly a year back. Following this resignation, Mohan will now take charge of business development and strategy, while Jha will continue working on product development. According to the company, its currently hiring and does not see this event having any impact on its business.
